The story behind the content creation start-up
Over the last few months, the world has been turned upside down. For co-founders Alex and Charlotte, it makes sense now more than ever to do things differently.
Combining his creative brain with her resourcefulness, these two make a formidable duo both in business and in life. Here’s the story behind Lumetiq.
Why did you start Lumetiq?
With both of us having spent the best part of the last decade working in the creative industry, we’d often feel frustrated by the same things. To quote Grace Murray Hopper: “The most damaging phrase in the language is ‘we’ve always done it this way.’”
With Lumetiq, we’ve got the opportunity to evolve all the good bits from our past experiences and change the not-so-good parts. We’ve essentially packed the punch of a full-service agency into an agile, creative production house.
Our remote model means we’re free to work from anywhere at any time, without charging crazy mark-ups. Our team can put a focus on craftsmanship and quality without compromise. And we can be 100% straightforward with our clients, sharing our learnings and growing with them.
Where does the name come from?
What we’re all about of course – bright ideas and innovative ways of working!
‘Lume’ comes from ‘Lumen’ which in Latin means ‘light of life’ and the ‘tiq’ is our condensed version of ‘technique’. We think it sums up our creativity and approach in a nutshell.
Who’s your ideal client?
Erm, one with an unlimited budget and a totally open creative brief...?
On a serious note, it comes back to the whole reason we started Lumetiq. We want to work with brands and businesses looking for a like-minded partner to make brilliant content with, both now and as they grow. Even better if they’re up for taking a few creative risks along the way!
We’ve got our eyes on a few brands we’d love to collaborate with...watch this space.
What are you most excited about?
Seeing more of our work out there. There’s nothing more satisfying than knowing something you’ve poured your heart and soul into is there for the world to enjoy.
We’ve already completed a couple of film and design projects for a few lovely clients and we’ll be sharing some highlights, so keep an eye out for a sneak peek.
